THE TRAGIC 8 iN 8 MONTHS AFTER BREAKING THE 8 – GHANA MOURNS

I write in tears after a tragic death of Ghana’s eight, A black wednesday that will be written in the books of Ghana forever. On the 6th of August 2025 a not too sunny day when five(5) politicians and three (3) military workers were mid air in a z-9 Chinese made military helicopter which has been grounded and granted unsafe to fly in most African countries but our motherland deemed it fit flying it.

The president was scheduled for a national relaunch of a galamsey programme named Responsible mining in the Ashanti Region specifically the Obuasi enclaves where galamsey or so go say illegal mining is being done.

The president that morning decided to attend a Church Programme with the Assemblies of God Church with his spouse and summoned the minister of Defence of Ghana Dr Omane Boamah to attend on his behalf same as the Chairman of the governing NDC Mr Asiedu Nketia also turned down the invitation and made his vice Chairman Dr Samuel sarpong attend the programme for him. The acting national security coordinator Alhaji muniru mohammed was also onboard the flight same as Alhaji Dr Ibrahim murtala Mohammed who is Ghana’s minister for environment and Mr Samuel Aboagye a former Parliamentary candidate for the governing National Democratic Congress in Obuasi East. Flying officer Twum Ampadu, squadron leader Peter Bafemi Anala and Sargent Ernest Addo were also onboard the helicopter

The Ashanti Regional minister Dr frank Amoakohene and the minister for lands Hon Kofi Armagh Boah were already at the venue waiting for Thier colleagues to join them. Lo and behold news started coming in that the helicopter carry these eight (8) precious souls has hit a tree in a forest in the Ashanti Region and all Eight (8) well strong and knowledgeable men has burned to ashes without even being recognised

The nation has turned into black, the ministers at Obuasi left the scene without even launching the programme and they followed over to the site the ascertain the truthfulness of the matter and report same to the president of Ghana.

On reaching the site they found broken helicopter parts, burned human beings without recognition, scattered parts of the helicopter, fire and flames all over the place. Eye witnesses narrated what they saw and at the end of the day the nation have eight(8) able bodied knowledgeable men who has left behind wives and kinds and to a large extent dependent.

Barely Eight(8) months of being President of Ghana and with the opposition Party’s slogan of breaking the Eight (8) which eventually was broken by the NDC and also loosing Eight (8) lives. The million dollar question is is it a mere numerical coincidence or as we Ghanaians believe in spirituality has the Eight

(8) got something to do with spirituality. We will bring you updates as it unfolds.
