Tension are rising in the Hometown of the sitting President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama reports says.
Clashes between Gonjas and Lobis in the savana region is gradually getting out of hands with several people feared dead.
There are unresolved conflicts for some years now and reports received by our political desk believe those chieftaincy clashes has escalated again leading to insecurity in the community.
The interior minister and MP for Asawase Hon muntaka Mubarak’s acting on advice of the National security coordinator and by the executive instrument has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the Bole township and it’s environs
The curfew which starts at 6am and ends at 6pm , took effect on Wednesday August 27th 2025 and will remain in force till further notice.
This is done to safeguards lives and properties in the community and also to prevent further clashes as stated by the ministry
We appeal to chiefs and opinion leaders to prioritise peace and avoid retaliation as stated by Government and also urge all and sundry in the area to exercise restraints in the face of all the challenges confronting them and use non violent means to channel Thier energies into ensuring peace, the statement added.
High ranting security personnel has been deployed to the area to ensure peace and to make sure the curfew is followed and maintained.
